David Hopkins is the contributing editor and publicist of The Tactics of Hope: How Social Entrepreneurs Are Changing Our World (http://www.TacticsofHope.org/), which he collaborated in writing with author Wilford Welch. He is a regular writer for Social Edge (http://www.socialedge.org/blogs/the-tactics-of-hope), and is also part of a core team of committed entrepreneurs launching a nonprofit venture called Borderless Educations, which promotes social and environmental responsibility through open and incentive-based education in the form of online lessons about global challenges and solutions. David graduated from Middlebury College in February of 2007. In addition to his work with The Tactics of Hope, he is also collaborating with Wilford to help lead the youth program of the next Quest for Global Healing gathering in June of 2009 called "Beyond Sustainability," to take place on the volcano of the main island in Hawaii. The purpose of the gathering is to create a community of leadership built on a platform of reverence, linking indigenous voices and wisdom-keepers of the natural world to the modern interests of the business world. This calls for a fundamental re-imagining of humankind's relationship to the earth, which is why two hundred people from around the world are being invited to spend five days along side the sacred volcano on the island of Hawai'i next June. With various professional pursuits, David's central goal is to help bring about the tipping point shift in consciousness for Generation We, inspiring young people to seek out and take advantage of opportunities with unprecedented power to make a difference in the world.
