Earth Day is like a birthday... It doesn't mean that you stop appreciating the one you celebrate after the event has passed. Our earth continues o n her journey and allows us to live our lives. Like a loved one, she is forgiving of negligence and still keeps giving, even when taken for granted. Thank you Mother Earth! We strive to teach each other to appreciate you each day. Speaking of reminders.I have been on a learning path for personal insight over the last few years, trying various professionals with couches, reading books, comparing myself against others, meditating, breathing, sitting in circles, realigning my chakras and meridians, and most recently, reconnecting with lost parts of my soul. What a great experience it is to learn about myself. It helps me appreciate the beauty everywhere. No matter what the channel to self discovery is, I still believe that travel has always been the one of the best teachers. It forces me out of my comfort zone, into unfamiliarity in so many ways. It is that discomfort that is so compelling and rewarding! I come back different, having met the challenges and welcomed the new experiences - I have grown. That temper tantrum or stress headache that was there before, was hard to justify upon ret! urn. In some small way, I change my approach to life and relationships with people, places and with myself. The one thing that remains clear, although I don't always know why, is my fascination with great spaces ~ unique accommodations. I believe everyone should be able to be at home where they are. I guess that means being happy in your own adaptability. Over the past 20 years traveling as a visitor and participating in making others journeys comfortable, I have observed and experienced so many interactions which cause angst and discomfort based on expectations and a lack of communication. I know, when I stop for a moment; I notice everything around me differently. Get out of my own head and just put myself in the place of another. This is where the greatest learning happens. Whether I am putting myself in the place of my other self (the chaotic stress mess self, the role model self, the supportive loving self etc. so many adaptable morphs!!) or in the place of a person in front of me, I have to communicate, let them learn ab! out me and take a moment to inquire and listen. I am looking forward to the continued learning path and hope that my enjoyment and quest for amazing spaces shared with diverse people will enlighten you too. Look forward to more resources for your personal journey to be available at Eco-Res lodgings. We are striving to work with owners of unique accommodations which inspire us all, appreciate our earth and allow us to learn, restore and grow.
