Helene de Puy founded Ode Magazine in The Netherlands in 1994 with her husband, Jurriaan Kamp. They built a small and effective team and attracted freelance writers and photographers spanning the globe to join in their mission. In addition to editing and publishing the magazine, Helene, Jurriaan and Ode also brought people together through conferences, seminars and workshops. One conference addressed principles of a world economy in which people matter. Before founding Ode, Helene worked as a photographer in South Asia. Earlier, in the eighties, she founded her own trading company, Solena Trading, building a bridge between The Netherlands and The Netherlands Antilles where she was born. In 2004, Helene, Jurriaan and their four children moved to Tiburon in California, to begin building Ode Magazine in the U.S. Helene is Ode’s navigator, guiding the magazine and its team.

"Carol Lee?" On our flight to New Orleans, the "Fasten Your Seat Belts" sign had just come on. Carol Lee was reading her book. She lifted her head, "What do you want to do in life?" I asked. I expected her to say she wanted to travel to Europe. Carol Lee turned to me and said, "I would like to hold babies." "Hold babies?" I was stunned. "You've got grandchildren." "I would like to work in a hospital nursery and just hold the newborns." Newborns? Her desire was one to ponder, which I did with each salty peanut I crunched. I looked out my little round window at New Orleans in the distance. Hold babies? Was she serious?' So begins this charming real-life story on the art of holding babies. My friend just sent this to me. It's a scene you will probably never get to see, so take a moment and enjoy God at work at the North Pole. This is the sunset at the North Pole with the moon at its closest point. And, you also see the sun below the moon. An amazing photo and not one easily duplicated.   Lees verder...

My friend DJ sent this to me. If there was a god up in the sky I'm sure this would be his smile. Send this to everyone who you think needs an extra good day today!   Lees verder...
