In "When Hope Heals" you mentioned how when doctors give the "evil spell" it often makes the patients die from lack of hope. But the real question is why patients go to see doctors for these diseases in the first place, when they usually get the 'evil spell" . My grandmother 32 years ago went to go see doctors for cancer she had, and they treated her over and over again with chemotherapy and radiation and probably more things too. They never tried to find the cause of the cancer however. That would have made her get cured right away and they wouldn't have made such a big profit. Finally they told her she'd be dead in 6 months and to enjoy her last few weeks on this planet. Well that didn't put an evil spell on her. Instead she went to www.kushiinstitute.org and in 6 months she was cured completely. I cured someone of asthma the same way. Now I just recommended it to someone with horrible arthritis. I hope it works with her too. People need stronger immune systems and better answers to their problems than the local hospitals have. Doctors aren't Gods. We control our own health.

I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma (nodular sclerosing, stage 3A, for inquiring minds) less than a month ago, and I started my first chemo treatment yesterday.
Today I picked up Ode and had a funny feeling it was going to be relevant. I found your cover story informative, inspiring, and very hopeful. I've had a long-time interest in neuroscience (reading popular science books on the topic), so your approach was of particular interest to me. I'm fascinated by the connection between mindfulness and health, and you've reinforced my resolve to explore that as I battle cancer.
I can't wait to read the book, and I hope your research continues to bear wonderful fruit.
All my thanks,
Beth

David, I love your synthesis of wisdom and insight into human nature. I am also involved with a book project on this topic - and have combined quite a range of experiences in my life to get to that point. After being an environmental lawyer and consultant with a MPH, I am currently an Integrative Bodyworker at the Evanston Northwestern Healthcare's Integrative Medicine Program in Glenview, IL
My book project is explained a bit at www.divineprimates.com. Any comments or suggestions would be most welcome. I'm in the arduous process of seeking a publisher.
Congratulations on your important vision and your successes!
Peace,
Earon
