One-Revolution
In March 2009, Chris Waddell will attempt to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Sounds like a basic goal, until you consider that this star athlete and paralympian will conquer the 19,340 foot high mountain without the use of his legs. If successful, Waddell will become the first paraplegic to summit Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.
The One-Revolution Foundation has begun design and production of a "Third World Handcycle", which will increase opportunity, provide mobility and open new doors of opportunity for disabled people in these limited regions. During the 2009 climb, we will donate 1,000 wheelchairs and handcycles to needy Tanzanians, providing a new opportunity. Going forward, the Foundation will make bi-annual donations throughout the world.
