Hope Heals: Helping Hands Project

One thing that we've been doing here in Grand Rapids, Michigan as part of our Helping Hands Project is piece together various care packages for our homeless community. These packages include handmade hats, scarves, some snacks, toiletries, pen/paper, and the like as well as an inspirational and encouraging handwritten card.

We try to package each one with items that we know are most requested; things I learn each week during my work at various downtown shelters, organizations, etc. We then head out to the streets and hand deliver each package along with a few words of encouragement. We've delivered around 100 care packages so far.
