Website of Eastern spirituality, sustainable lifestyle, active citizenship... and humor

We are not alone. I don't know about extra-terrestrials, but I have discovered other people willing to take a timeout from the daily grind and consider the problems of being a politically, ecologically and spiritually responsible human being. I think I've found a friend in the Elephant Journal.

The first thing that caught my was the mission statement of their 'elevision' videos: they "aim to do for the 'mindful life' - yoga, organics, sustainability, the arts... what Jon Stewart has done for politics." Elephant Journal has videos and articles that focus on organics, active citizenship, sustainability, conscious consumerism, the arts, wellness and (my personal favorite) "non new-agey spirituality." They have a video interview with Will Smith. They also have no fear of puns. It's social responsibility with a smile.

If you feel like the only person around that is really concerned about the environment, about making difference or about Life with a capital L, take a look around. Check out Elephant Journal, or the 194 pages of Ode members. Maybe even start a "green" conversation at the water cooler with someone you haven't talked with before. You might find that you are not alone.
