Storytelling to Transform, Inspire and Educate

I love to create and co-create, connect and synergize people, projects and organizations, and inspire others to help make a positive impact in the world with passion and a sense of adventure. I am president and co-founder of Shaking the Tree Foundation (www.shakingthetree.org). In short, we utilize storytelling (mostly theater) to inspire people to think about how they might utilize their resources in the service of others. Not only do we tackle issues around philanthropy, but also address issues of wealth and money.

I'm intrigued with the idea of storytelling as a means of solving our problems. In fact, it may be the essentially human means to communicate vision and intention. I am volunteering for a nonprofit whose aim is to find, translate and broadcast documentary films made around the world so that everyone can better experience what life is like for our brothers and sisters all over. Hopefully, they will more deeply learn how similar we all are!

The organization is Living Earth Television and the website is www.letv.org. The founder is Martha Foster.

great to find others engaged and active like this. I have been pursuing this path since childhood and now my life and work are in a period of deep transformation...looking for new ways and contexts, as well as people and organizations, to share my skills and passions with to make beautiful and meaningful things happen.

hopefully here I can also come in contact and interact

Thank you M. Fernandez,

Thank you for posting this article on storytelling.

Storytelling is almost a lost art, one that benefited children and adults in many cultures for eons.

Years ago, my life was saved, by the sharing of a simple classic story, Jumping Mouse. It's a Native American tale that transforms lives, by acknowledging the tugging of the spirit to be expressed.

Since then, I've shared that story with over 5,000 people, and just released it to the world in a free ebook. I invite you to read it, and to share it too.

It can be downloaded at:

Keep up the good work,
