LynnSimier, it's a cult! If you do go to the petitiononline don't go to avatarspam or avatarcult .coms because there is supposed to be a nasty spam attached (not sure). I for one am not taking any chances, I don't like spam and I especially don't like any orgs that charge you $ to become enlightened! There is no easy way down that path and a good teacher won't charge you thousands or push scientology down your throat! Remember if something sounds to good to be true it prob. is and on the same note a path to enlightenment is no cup of tea when you start being aware of who you are vs who you want to be. I am not saying anything is wrong with us but we all could be more compassionate, even all the time! And it's free! Peace :-)

to all, I regret I have used too harsh a word for Avatar-"cult"-I should've thought first, I wish to replace the word with following. We all have our right to "follow" whatever truth we may believe.

silence is the only way. Be still.

Hi all, I too was curious how this Avator course compared to the Landmark Forum and other "technologies"... needless to say, Palmer has quite a reputation. I cannot personally vouch for this group's integrity, but I do like to read as much as I can regarding pros and cons before making a decision about anything.

Here is a link that I found:

www.xs4all.nl/~jeta/avatar/avatar-declarations-ex-scientologists.html

There is a lot of info to read.

I am disturbed that Ode promotes via our email newsletters this type of organization without an article describing it, explaining its history, or any sort of journalism. I for one do not want to waste my time with Scientology-derived courses.

p.s. Charlotte, why are you afraid of taking a stand and reporting that something may be deceitful? Shouldn't people have a chance to verify that what they believe is true? Didn't a prophet once say "the truth will set you free" -- not "your truth", heh.
