V-Day movement celebrates its 10th anniversary

In 1996, Eve Ensler wrote the famous play titled "The Vagina Monologues" that became an international feminist phenomenon. Not only did the play bring women's issues to the forefront, it inspired Eve to create V-Day, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls.

V-Day will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2008 with women and men from the U.S with a mega two-day anniversary celebration - V TO THE TENTH - in New Orleans Friday - Saturday, April 11-12 at the New Orleans Arena and Louisiana Superdome.

The event will feature international performances of The Vagina Monologues, musical guests, V-Day activists from across the globe including Kenya, Afghanistan, Iraq, The Philippines, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eastern Europe, men standing up for women and much more.

Our good friend Jane reminds us that there is much men can do for V-Day, too. One thing men can do is visit the web site of A Call to Men at www.acalltomen.com Find out if there's a group near you and/or start one, for it's men, particularly, who need to do much with their unbalanced thinking about women and masculinity.
