The Best Suggestions Often Seem Simple

It seems that it is our tendency to become carried away with almost everything we do. We work too hard, make our lives too complicated, play too hard, worry too much and entertain ourselves too much. Yet, we are very much social beings and derive a sense of peace and joy from spending relaxed time with other people and making friends. When we associate only with our coworkers, friends and immediate family, we may lose sight of the broad scope of humanity around us and within us. When I go to a festival or picnic, I am always surprised and stimulated by the people I see there. I observe people having fun, struggling with various tasks, or even being stressed out. Yet, one can step back and see the entire event and the entire day as a whole - with individuals, families, children, elders, young lovers, neighbors and strangers from around the block or around the world. This does help me to stop thinking so much about what I want and what I need - and how I think the world should be. It is therapeutic to be present and in awe of the natural setting, the cultural nature of the event and how similar people are - regardless of their cultural or national origins. Thank you for the suggestion!
