What would an obligatory daily meditation look like?
What would happen if all of us would stop once a day for 30 minutes to focus all of our attention on finding and strengthening our inner awareness and amplifying the light within us? What if it were a governmental policy and the president would also be obliged to do so? How much would that effect our consciousness individually and as a whole? How much easier and flowing would the days be? By how much percent would that effect violent attitudes, stress and misunderstandings?
How much would a collective, positive reflection and reprogramming moment benefit us? Even if you bring it back to 5 minutes listening to a visualization and positive reinforcement tape before starting work, the effect has to be amazing. Only one flipside, who will determine what you need to do, think, listen to or say for those 5 to 30 minutes? It would easily and rightfully be called dictatorship. I'd love to hear your ideas on this one.

For years, I've wanted to implement and maintain a daily meditation practice. That's a goal I've definitely wavered on. Still, no matter how many times I'm unsuccessful, it remains in the back of my mind on that eternal "to do" list.
I think daily meditation would have an overall positive effect on us. I'm not so sure that mandatory meditation would fly over well though. People would inevitably resist simply because it's being imposed, despite being a good idea. That would probably happen more at the teenage and adult levels, although there will certainly be children resisting the change. But resistance against change is inevitable.
It would make sense to start it at the primary and secondary school levels. Make it a part of that particular culture. I think if it were mandated that a certain amount of time be set aside for mediditation--and prayer--it could work. "Mandatory" connotes enforcement. It should not be enforced, but strongly encouraged.
