Brother Ishmael’s Peace
Brother Ishmael Tetteh is the Founder and Spiritual Director of the Etherean Mission in Ghana, West Africa, and he’s a person committed to peace. The Etherean Mission is a trans-denominational metaphysical organization dedicated to self-awareness and the study of the natural sciences.
His website conscioushumanity.com says, “I believe in the human spirit and in its potential to manifest peace now. I hear the voice of the soul of the soul of humanity and its cry is for peace and creative progress. Provided with the right tools, the answer to this long cherished prayer is with us now.”
I agree with Brother Ishmael. Actually, I think that the only desire that applies to everyone in this world is the desire for peace. I’m happy to have Brother Ishmael add creative progress to the list. In fact, I believe that what will cause inner peace in all beings is creative progress, that it’s a creative process to create peace, and if it isn’t, then that isn’t really peace.
Brother Ishmael offers courses on World Peace …
“Peace will not happen automatically. We have to work at it by identifying the fundamental forces that negate peace in our being.
“We do not need high philosophies. We all know that it is fear and anger that are responsible for all sorts of crimes and war yet we have not identified workable plans to correct these.
“For peace to happen, we provide social tools for effective community building.”
He teaches these tools as well: Growing the Empowered Child, Sacred Divorce, Marriage Enterprise (the Purpose-Driven Marriage), and Enlightened Parenting.
Of peace he writes, “If we can have a workable definition of peace in a way that will make us see, taste and feel it in consciousness, we can make it happen. Peace has remained elusive to us because it is so abstract in our minds.”
I agree. We have to make peace personal.
He defines peace as “the identification and free expression of our divine potentials.
“If you do not identify your potential and you see others in theirs, you feel cheated. This leads to internal confusion and conflict that will result in external confusion and conflict and wars. Again, if you identify your potentials and are not able to express them, you feel hemmed in and choked. This creates internal confusion and conflict that will result in external confusion and conflict and wars.
“We need to create a culture of peace and grow peaceful people.”
I “met” Brother Ishmael on a day when my own spirit of peace was flagging. At this moment, I can’t remember why, but I remember feeling uplifted when I read these words of his one internally cloudy day, “I truthfully believe peace is happening. . . .”
Sometimes, that’s all it takes. Someone who believes in the happening-ness of peace in the moments when my faith in that happening slips.
Thanks, Brother Ishmael. God speed, and God’s peace to you.
