Peace merchant association

Who knew there was a merchant association for purveyors of peace-related paraphernalia? Not me. I found it on the Bark for Peace site and it made me laugh out loud with delight. Check out their members: www.peacemerchantsassociation.org.

I found ribbons, magnets, mugs, t-shirts, bumper stickers, soaps, books, buttons and more. The genuine more isn’t more stuff though—it’s more people like me who have and are realizing day by day that what we all [all, no exceptions] want is peace. It’s a universal goal. We may not all agree on how to get there, but we can figure that part out. We are figuring that part out daily.

One of the conundra that peaceworkers consistently cite is that we don’t know how to live an economics of peace. War economics mean boom times. What do peace economics mean? How about even, steady, conscious growth for the highest good of the entire planet?

I’m reminded of that famous marketing adage so perfectly depicted below. The usual line is that we can have two but not three.

Played out that means . . .

If you want it, in our case, let’s say peace . . .

If you want peace fast and good, it won’t be cheap. If you want peace fast and cheap, it won’t be good. If you want peace good and cheap, it won’t be fast.

Two out of three.

How about this? I want peace, no doubt about that. I already know that peace is good. I don’t really care whether it’s fast or cheap so long as it’s incremental and we all realize it takes investment. That’s what an economics of peace is about.

YES!! I am always quoting the good, fast, cheap deal!! Learned it long ago while doing VFX in Hollywood where we used to repeat frequently and with great vigor: "You can have ANY TWO of the three, but you can't have all three!" (of course, people being who we are we typically want all three!:))

Bark for Peace! was thrilled to find the Peace Merchants Association and are proud to be in this company and the company of Co-op America's Green Business Network. We've got to stick together! woof!woof! :)
