Peace stuff
I’m a believer in broadcasting my message. That’s part of the reason all my Ode posts are peace-themed. This week someone sent me an invitation to link to his air shoes site. Air shoes? I checked it out and found the image above. Ah. Peace sneaks. That I can do. Here’s what he says about them:
“Vans recently released the “Peace Pack,” which features a Sk8 Hi, Slip On, and a Old Skool. This pack may remind you of their “Hippie Pack” from last year. But the “Peace Pack” is all about the peace sign logo.
“Using a black upper, brightly colored peace signs are all over these shoes, it’s a wild look with a throw-back 70’s appeal of the times of peace and love. If you are looking for a vibrant shoe and are into peace, these shoes might be for you. Personally, I like the Hi, but it depends on your own style—all three models have their merits.” Go to www.myairshoes.com for more air shoes.
I didn’t order a pair having graduated from high tops a few years ago but I was sorely tempted; they’re so cool! Or, they’re so uncool, they’re cool, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, I got to thinking about other peace stuff I have. My favorite story involves my car license plate. For as long as I’ve owned a car, I’ve used the vanity plate option to speak peace. In New Mexico, my plate said PAX DEA (Peace Goddess). In Massachusetts, it reads PAXYES (Peace Yes).
The other day, I was sitting in the passenger seat reading and waiting for my sweetie to collect something from her office when a dad and his, maybe, four year old walked by the car. The child stopped at the plate and read it aloud. “Pax Yes,” he said.
I looked up. “Do you know what that means?” I asked.
“No,” said the child. “No, wait. Yes!” said the dad. “Peace Yes. It’s Latin.”
The four year old sage nodded wisely. “Yes,” he said, “yes, peace.” Tearing up the hill, he shouted, “Peace! Yes!” The whole point of the vanity plate.

But as educational consultant Mushtaq Jaafri (Dr. Jeff) reveals that the present educational system is also failing its brightest students molding them into clones who are incapible of thinking for themselves. CHILDERN MUST LEARN MORE THAN READING AND WRITING! Seven things schools should be teaching our kids but aren't. I reveal these seven things in the book, The Seven Laws of Nature.
